aluplast’s Director of Sales and Marketing Ian Cocken explains how a partnership with RegaLead Ltd is greater than the sum of its parts.
When we took a stand at the Glazing Summit at Edgbaston with RegaLead Ltd in October to promote the new Engineered Door, it confirmed that our investment in this project was on the money.
We are proud to be a launch partner of RegaLead’s exciting new Engineered Door, which breathes life into the PVC-U door sector by elevating aesthetics and performance.
We have worked with Regalead’s MD Guy Hubble and the rest of the team for the best part of two years, exploring how we can leverage the interest and value in our growing range of premium foils – aludec and woodec – which closely replicate the colours and textures of aluminium and timber.
Guy’s own research had led him to conclude that fabricators want to do so much more with PVC-U doors, but the options available on the market were limited.
So, we worked closely with RegaLead, focusing on our Ideal 4000 and Ideal 70 systems, and aludec and woodec foils, to create new designs that closely replicate timber and aluminium doors.
This allowed them to take a basic flat panel design and match it perfectly with the foiled profile, adding decorative aluminium mouldings – again in matching foils – giving fabricators a huge amount of design freedom in designing expressive and desirable doors.
A flagship design in RegaLead’s new Engineered Door range is a selection of ‘bolection mouldings’ which are fixed to the edge of the panel and partly onto the profile, and gives an authentic timber finish.
Our woodec foils meant we could help RegaLead create ambitious and effective timber detailing.
Composite doors have dominated the door market for about 15 years now. For fabricators, this means they are typically reliant on the supply of composite doors from a third party, which they then incorporate into their own outerframe. This limits their ability to add value.
Since fabricators possess much of the machinery required to make PVC panel doors, with the Engineered Door solution, they can order the components, already cut to size, and manufacture these high-end products themselves.
We expect them to retail at a price point similar to a quality composite door.
The fabricator also has complete control over colour, matching the door to the other aluplast window and door products, while taking full advantage of our flush sash and flush French doors.
It is this attention to detail that homeowners are looking for, and installers will have access to a full marketing suite, including software integration so that leading online sales software can display the Engineered Door in visualisation tools.
By being a launch partner with RegaLead, we are giving our fabricators a huge opportunity to get ahead of the market and deliver desirable products with a profit margin to match.
And the feedback we received from companies at the Glazing Summit in October proves that partnerships like these will continue to drive engagement throughout the supply chain as the refurbishment market picks up in 2025.
We have invested in our infrastructure, especially here in the UK, because we understand that providing sustainable, energy efficient window and door systems, in a market-leading range of high-end foils is only part of the picture.
For example, we have significantly expanded our technical support team and continue to work closely with partners throughout the supply to create new opportunities for growth.
Our product development programme is a reflection of this forward-thinking approach, and we’ll be unveiling more at the FIT Show in May 2025.
