aluplast has strengthened its sliding door portfolio with the launch of aero-slide, an ‘everyday’ inline PVC-U option offering a significantly wider span capability than many comparable systems.
Joining aluplast’s sliding door range alongside the high-end HST85 lift-and-slide and intermediate neo smart-slide, aero-slide has been developed for projects where a fuss-free, reliable patio door is required without the need for a premium system.
Providing customers with a more accessible inline sliding door option for larger openings, aero-slide combines contemporary aesthetics and high performance with easier fabrication.

We already have premium sliding systems for higher-specification projects, but customers also need a straightforward inline patio door that delivers technically, while remaining competitive in the mainstream marketplace.”
With configurations that allow multi-pane doors up to 6m wide, aero-slide’s wider-span capability sets the system apart from its competitors.
“One of the foremost technical features is that we can go to a 2m sash on a 4m, 2-pane door, which beats the entire market at 2.4m high,” explained Keith.
“In addition, a double brush seal on the interlock and some very sophisticated brush seals on the sash deliver excellent air leakage performance, while the system accepts glazing from 28mm to 36mm thick. This allows triple glazing and U-values of around 1.0W/m²K, depending on specification.”
Featuring a seven-chamber outerframe, four-chamber sash and 85mm frame depth, aero-slide is available with standard PVC or PAS24 aluminium interlocks, alongside standard or pre-prepped steel reinforcement options.

Available in aluplast’s full range of finishes, including smooth colours and woodgrain foils, the addition of next-generation aludec or woodec creates a truly authentic aluminium or timber appearance.
“If customers want a contemporary matt black finish or a traditional, real oak look, aero-slide offers the flexibility to achieve either option very convincingly,” added Keith.
In addition, aero-slide’s SquareLine styling complements aluplast’s Ideal 70 and Ideal 4000 window systems, for a coordinated project package.
“As a straightforward, reliable and commercially practical patio door that fits neatly into our customers’ wider product offer, aero-slide completes our sliding door range and presents a new opportunity for fabricators and installers looking to sell into that market,” added Keith.
“As a conventional inline sliding door incorporating some very strong technical features, we can take this door anywhere,” he concluded.
With energy efficiency expectations continuing to rise, aluplast says fabricators and installers need window and door systems that support Part L compliance while still delivering the aesthetics, flexibility and commercial value today’s market demands.
Thermal performance has moved from a technical consideration to a commercial priority for fabricators, installers and specifiers.
As energy bills remain a concern for homeowners and Building Regulations continue to place greater emphasis on efficiency, windows and doors are under increasing scrutiny. Part L ready
aluplast’s Ideal 70 and Ideal 4000 casement systems are both Part L compliant and capable of achieving U-values as low as 0.76W/m²K when triple glazed, with double-glazed options achieving U-values as low as 1.2W/m²K, depending on glass and frame size.
For fabricators, this means strong thermal performance can be achieved across familiar, established platforms, without adding unnecessary complexity to the manufacturing process.
“Part L compliance is obviously a key driver, but performance has to be delivered in a way that works commercially,” continues Graham.
“There is no point offering outstanding theoretical performance if the system is difficult to fabricate, difficult to specify or too narrow in its application. Our approach is to deliver strong U-values through systems that are practical, flexible and proven.”
The Ideal 70 range includes casement, tilt and turn, flush casement, residential doors and French doors, while Ideal 4000 provides a contemporary bevelled option across casements and door applications. Both systems offer glazing options up to 44mm on selected products, allowing fabricators to use double or triple-glazed units depending on the performance requirements of the project.
This flexibility is important in a market where specifications vary widely, from standard replacement work through to higher-performance residential and commercial applications.
Performance across the range
aluplast’s thermal offer extends beyond conventional casements and doors. Energeto Neo, part of the wider Neo platform, offers advanced thermal performance for more demanding applications, with a U-value as low as 0.67W/m²K and glazing options up to 54mm.
Designed as an inward-opening tilt and turn window and inward or outward-opening door suite, Energeto Neo combines six-chamber outerframe and sash construction with features including foam inserts, composite reinforcement and glass bonding.

“Energeto Neo is a strong example of how far PVC-U and Composite Hybrid system technology has evolved,” says Graham. The system is now widely specified in commercial house build contracts.
“It gives fabricators and specifiers access to a very high-performance product, with the aesthetics, security and practical benefits that modern projects demand.”
For large-span openings, Smart Slide Neo further strengthens aluplast’s offer. With U-values as low as 0.57W/m²K, a maximum width of 6m and height of 2.5m, it allows fabricators and installers to offer a thermally efficient sliding system for premium residential and architecturally driven projects.
Crucially, these performance credentials are delivered alongside the design flexibility consumers increasingly expect, including smooth, woodgrain, aludec and woodec finishes across the range.
