‘Aluminium aesthetic’ at a fraction of the cost
aluplast has unveiled its next generation foil options, which emulate the appearance of aluminium, in an energy efficient PVC-U system.
aludec delivers a step-change in PVC-U foiling technology, more accurately replicating not only the appearance but the touch of aluminium, including replicating textured powder coated options.
Simpler and more cost effective to manufacture, and matched-into the most popular aluminium colour options, Ian Cocken, Director of Sales and Marketing, aluplast, said that aludec, delivered a unique sales platform to fabricators and installers.
He said: “Consumers demand for aluminium continues to grow and there are a lot of fabricators who are thinking about adding aluminium lines to their operations.
“We get it, and we understand why they would want to. Equally, that exercise costs in machinery investment and disruption to core manufacture.
“aludec is a third way. It’s a PVC-U option that reproduces the finish of aluminium with such accuracy that unless you touch it, and feel that it’s not as cold, it’s almost indistinguishable from the real thing. That includes textured options.”
The new aludec range is includes seven aluminium-effect finishes. This includes aludec anthracite grey; jet black; aldudec DB703; basalt grey; umbra grey; window grey; and aludec traffic white.
The new range of surface finishes are available across the German system house’s core Ideal 70 and contemporary Ideal 4000 system, plus its new Smart-Slide inline sliding door and flush casement sash.
“If you’re running it on a flush casement, particularly in our Ideal 4000 system, which is a very contemporary window anyway, defined by its square-edge design, or our Smart-Slide inline sliding door, you get a product which faultlessly emulates aluminium, but which is easier to manufacture, more accessible and delivers better thermal performance”, added Cocken.
aludec’s development follows aluplast’s launch of woodec. Also part of its next generation range of foils, this time replicating the natural appearance of timber.
This includes three ultra-life-like woodgrains: Turner Oak Malt, a subtle light oak finish; Sheffield Oak Alpine, a silvered oak finish; and slightly darker, Sheffield Oak Concrete.
Cocken continued: “aludec and woodec are available in addition to the 30 standard foils also available from aluplast. What I’m also very pleased about is that were able to maintain supply of those standard products throughout 2020 at a time when many fabricators struggled to source product.
“With woodec, and now aludec, it gives us and most importantly ouf fabricator-base, a very strong offer on which to build throughout the coming year”, he concluded.
